Thorseals are Tough & Resilient
As a replacement for the original rubber and cloth seal, Thordon Bearings developed the Thorseal which is made from a tough and resilient polymer to which self-lubricating additives are blended. Our design has a more efficient sealing lip which is thinner, more compliant and capable of withstanding hydraulic pressures to 10,000 psi. Compared to O-rings, Thorseals will easily last without renewal between overhauls and will seal more effectively than a large O-ring.
Replacement Propeller Nut Seal Kit
The first product available from Marsh Brothers Aviation is a replacement for the retaining nut seal: Part No. 6510090. Sold as a set of four, these seals are designed to fit propeller blades with a root diameter of 4.525 in. assuming that the blade root surface under the seal is in satisfactory condition.
