Self-Lubricating Bushings
Recently we developed Thor-Plas bushings for the new tail-wheel struts available from Ezell Aviation and have supplied bushings to Sanders Bros. Aviation for stock units.
MBA has now re-designed the bushings to be a perfect "press fit" into the aluminum strut so that no machining is required. Thor-Plas is a high pressure self-lubricating plastic made by our sister company, Thordon Bearings Inc. Although our bearings do not require grease for lubrication, it is recommended that an initial coating is applied to guard against corrosion.
New Seal Performs Better
Along with the kit of 2 bushings to Dwg No.’s T-G 19945 and 19946 we will include a Thor-Flex U-seal (T-G 19463) which is installed between the main body and the fork. The new seal will exclude dirt, retain grease and perform far better than the rubber original.
